Great Thoughts

Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.
Benjamin Disraeli

Today I am really digging in to Flying Lessons, an online course about growing a creative business by Kelly Rae Roberts.  Funny...all this talk about potential and dreaming big has stirred up a lot of insecurity in me.  Isn't that always the way of things?  We commit, we take a leap of faith, and almost instantly the voices start up...reminding us of all the fears that kept us from taking that leap in the first place.

So I'm arming myself against the fear with sticky notes!

I love looking up and seeing reminders of all the little "aha" moments I've had lately.  If I continue stepping out of my comfort zone this cabinet will be covered in no time!  In fact, I think I'll just start leaving little notes all over the house.  I used to do that a lot when the kids were younger.

There is so much power in words, written or spoken.  I hope your day is filled with good and noble thoughts...that the voice of Truth makes its way into your heart and that you are very much encouraged in your own walk.

  3. Hiya! Found you via Flying Lessons. I agree - all this potential is stirring up some insecurities and fears, but - that's normal. It's good, right? Just don't let your fears paralyze you. I'm so grateful to be a part of Flying Lessons, and to be part of a supportive group. Go. You!

  4. Hi, Alisa! Having our fears and insecurities is absolutely good when we're surrounded by a community of caring, encouraging individuals like our Flying Lessons classmates. It's good to have a safe place to let those fears surface, learn how to deal with them, and move forward with our creative dreams. I am so looking forward to all that is in store for us!

  5. Love your blog, can see you are a woman of many interests! I am loving the class too, trying to prioritize my mornings to absorb the lesson then jot notes down throughout the day as they relate to the post. I adore your sticky notes, I would follow along but my 9 year old always takes mine and covers her own walls.

    1. Ah, your daughter must be an artist in training! I also keep a composition book close by to jot down notes as I process each day's post. There's SO MUCH information. I'm so glad there's a PDF coming at the end of the course, otherwise I might feel a bit panicky!

    1. Hi, Mary,
I agree that change can be threatening, but it really is so good and so neccessary. Just signing up for this ecourse was a huge step. We received some major challenges, inspiration and information this week. Thank goodness there's no rush to process and assimilate it! Each of us will work out our own timing and balance.
Thanks for stopping by this morning and encouraging me. I just hopped over and enjoyed looking at your beautiful photography. I love what you're doing!
