Duck Tushes

I simply cannot help but smile when I see the posterior of a duck as it bobs its head into the water in search of food.  It's one of the cutest things in nature, I think.

The ducks at a local park are pretty friendly when I approach them in my kayak, so I decided to try to sketch them as they grabbed a snack the other day.  I must say, you have to be quick when sketching bobbing ducks!  (I added the watercolor later.)

I take it as a sign of trust that they'll be so vulnerable when I'm so close.  After all, friends are supposed to trust each other, right?

I bet they never dreamed I'd sketch their tushes while their heads were down!

What silly thing makes you smile?
