Loving the Questions

At the suggestion of a friend I tried out a new drawing app the other day.  Inkist is amazing!  (Thanks for the heads up, Kristin!)

This is just a play page...doodling and learning to use the tools.  This app is way fun and easy to learn.  It is amazingly versatile in that you can easily custom design your brushes and work in up to three rearrangeable layers.  It also offers endless color and blending possibilities.

As I played in Paper 53 these past few weeks I used the mixing palette to blend colors and then transferred them by brush or pen tool to canvas.  In Inkist, however, I've enjoyed applying different colors directly to the canvas and blending them there.  Both techniques are fun and each achieves a unique "feel".

Did you recognize the reference to my favorite Rilke quote in the doodled words?  It's something I've tried to live by for a long time.

Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them.

And the point is, to live everything.

Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it,
live along some distant day into the answer.

Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

Oh, Mr. Rilke... You understood the nuances of living out an artistic calling so well!

My friends, I hope you're enjoying a happy, healthy, creative Monday.  I'm linking up to Creative Every Day, so be sure to stop by there and visit some of the wonderful artists participating this week.  I promise you'll be inspired!
