I woke up to the sound of rain on our tin roof this morning. Gratitude seemed a fitting theme for a journal page as a rainstorm in mid-August is a rare treat in East Texas
Fairest Blossom, August 2013, created in Sketches for iPad and Corel Draw
The composition was inspired by vintage seed packets. I used to have a little collection of them, thinking I would like to design my own some day. Funny, this is the second time I've written about seeds this week. (Remember Friday's seed pod?) Hmmm...I try to pay attention when the same theme appears repeatedly in my artwork...
I imagine lots of things will spring back to life a bit after the rain we had this morning. My lawn desperately needed a good soak and my soul needed the nourishment of a quiet morning spent creating. (That extra cup of coffee kind-of perked me up, too!)
My day is off to a great start. Hope yours is, too.
Love your seed packet! The flowers remind me of zinnas which I adore! Happy rain day.

Beautiful, I love flowers and yours are full of a delightful energy. Definitely the phrase speaks to me as well. I love the rain too (provided I'm not trying to travel by car at the time!).
